Here in fort kochi I am staying right next to the indian post office. (My hotel address is actually “prince street, near post office”). So I decided to ship all of these paintings home via indian post rather than a shipping service, despite some sketchy reviews about lost packages. I will be EXTREMELY upset if they are lost. The guy at the post office used a ridiculous amount of tape, three different kinds. He was taping my box for about 10 minutes, he just kept layering on more tape.
still 4 paintings left to post, stay tuned…
Abstract view of a hill from my balcony and studio.
Prasad and Benny are cooking me a special goodbye lunch and then my taxi comes, sad sad sad.
Still 5 more paintings left to post…
Tonight is my last night at palette people art residency in the village of Kottamala. It has been an unbelievably amazing experience in many ways. The people here are amazing, they made me feel like family.
In the background of this painting you can see the posts of a volleyball court where I played several times, including tonight. All the boys asked me to come back next year, very sweet.
Still 6 or 7 artworks to post from my stay here.
Now on to Cochin, then kovalam, then Sri Lanka, then chennai, then Pondicherry…… And on and on….but no more painting for a while now.
Ever gone too far down the path of least resistance? Careful, It can be a slippery slope.
Today I ate some coffee beans right off the tree. There is a sweet slimy layer between the skin and the bean. I also saw a mongoose-type varmint, it was pretty big. A few days ago I saw some wild pigs.
